SPT #2 –

Bert Stanley took down his second tournament in the last four by winning the SPT #2! His win puts him into 1st place on the year, but with many more tournaments to go, can he hang on? If you listen real carefully, you can hear his good buddy Larry O’ chuckling at the thought.

SPT #1 – Sam the Poker Man?

1

SPT #1 took place last night with a whopping 51 entries, plus 1 re-entry for a total of 52 entries! That is a new SPT record, which was previously set on March 20, 2009 when 48 people gathered for LPT #6! Thomas Montalto who finished 2nd last night and Mike Fanelli who finished 4th last night, also cashed in that tournament coming in 4th and 5th.

For one night, Sam, Sam the Carpet Man became Sam, Sam the Poker Man taking down the first tournament of the year! He out lasted 51 other entries to score 174 points and jump out to an early lead in the 2012 season. Sam went into the final table with a big chip stack and was able to maintain it, despite doubling up Montalto who had called an all in with KK. A big congrats to Sammy for his first SPT win! Along with your winning and points Sam, you will also get a free plug at the bottom of this article.

2011 TOC Champ Crowned!

Last Saturday the TOC for the 2011 season was played in Piscataway! The top ten point leaders from the year gathered to see who would be named the best of the best. Larry O dominated early and it looked like he would become only the second person in history to win both the Player of the Year Point Leader along with winning the TOC. It looked like Larry was about to finish it off when Steve went all in with 55, to be called by AA. You must watch the video to believe it yourself:

Even tho that crippled Larry O, believe it or not he came back again. Unfortunately that would not be enough either. After another bad beat, Steve would finish him off.

Rounding out the top 10 were…

1. Steve G.
2. Larry O.
3. Tommy M.

Congrats to Steve on winning the 2011 TOC!
